Impact

Eternity Bible is receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback for its core, innovative feature: the ability to set up multiple, personalized Bibles for different purposes (e.g., personal devotion, family study, Sunday service). Users describe this as a "fantastic" and "game changer" feature that simplifies navigation and allows them to instantly pick up right where they left off in any context. The app is organically growing a team with five users who have offered to help with the app with their own time and skills after having seen the value for themselves.

Overview

The Project

Designed to help you open the Bible more often. The challenge of Eternity Bible was to rethink the status quo of digital Bibles from the perspective of the user. The people using Bible apps tend to follow the same patterns as well like attending church, reading several translations or sometimes even languages in different settings and groups. The reality is that most people don't open the Bible on their phone because of the cognitive load of finding your spot and navigating the app. Eternity Bible lets you create Bibles for every context and resume reading exactly where you left off in each Bible instantly. You can save settings and a translation for each Bible.

The Challenge

Problem Identification

Digital Bibles are designed around print expectations, not around human lives today. Particularly the churched.

Only one translation available

Has ads or sponsorships and promotional materials

Single language eliminates bilinguals

Hard and slow to navigate the Bible

Takes longer to find your spot in digital Bible than it does on paper

Too many features you never actually use on your phone

High cognitive load

Too many taps, 3-4 to get back to bookmark or history in other Bible

Thinking and memory involved to find your spot means app left unopened

Contains false teaching

Costs money

Poor formatting

Full of distractions drawing you away from the Bible

Too many settings

Not curated
